Mindfulness & Meditation: From Knowledge to Practice
February 16, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 8:20 pm
Mindfulness is the gentle practice of being connected to the moment. It begins by paying attention to our experiences – how we speak, what we offer the world, what we care about. We spend much of our time replaying the past or worrying about the future, and we forget to pay attention to what is happening right now. And the truth is that’s all we ever really have. In this workshop we will discuss thought awareness (you are not your thoughts, and your thoughts aren’t necessarily true), why worry pretends to be necessary, how breathing can help you stay connected to the moment, and why mindfulness leads to greater joy. We will also discuss how mindfulness can transform your parenting and lessen the chaos in your home. We will discuss different forms of meditation and why it leads to greater self understanding and a sense of peace.
This free seminar will be led by Cathy Cassani Adams, LCSW, CPC, CYT, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, PCI Certified Parent Coach, Certified Elementary School Teacher, and a Certified Yoga Instructor. See more at: http://cathycassaniadams.com.
