Is There a MOOC in Your (Child’s) Future?

Think Global:   Higher education is evolving. MIT announced this week that it will offer a semester’s work of graduate study and credit online and for free.

Take a few minutes and begin to acquaint yourself with new options in online education- for your children and for you!  MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course which is aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web.  The MIT program in the article uses an “Inverted Admissions” approach so that MIT can reach applicants that ‘never thought they would be able to apply.’

Act Local:

  1. Find out more about MOOCs offered through edX, Coursera, and others.
  2. From your comfy couch, watch this video explaining MOOCs.
