Parent University 2014 Continued was held on Thursday, March 20th at 6:30 pm in Tyler’s Room at La Grange Public Library  A free showing of the movie “Happy,” which combines powerful human stories from around the world with cutting edge science to give us a deeper understanding of our most valued emotion was shown to a sold out audience. Practical and simple happiness-focused activities were discussed. View Flyer for more information.

Parent University 2012 Continued   Parents, teens, teachers, and counselors attendedthe Project Happiness film screening at LTHS South Campus held March 20th.   Randy Taran, the producer, was there to introduce the documentary and answer questions afterwards. Donations at the door went to ACES –  a not for profit  which offers counseling for local teens on a sliding scale.

 

Randy Taran is the founder of Project Happiness, a non-profit that empowers youth to create greater happiness in their lives and in the world. She is the co-author, with Maria Lineger, of the   Project Happiness Handbook which makes the best of positive psychology, emotional intelligence and global literacy accessible to students in six countries. This handbook and DVD which can be used at home and in the classroom is available for purchase on their website and Amazon.  An online class, Seven Doors to Happiness, currently used at Stanford and USC is available to everyone.
